Eager to embark on this thrilling new chapter, you might wonder, "Can I start using my business name right away?" Technically, you could, but it's prudent to hold off on actively trading under the name just yet. This blog post will delve into why patience is vital after registering your business name and the ideal time to start using it.   ## **The Importance of Waiting Before Using Your Registered Business Name** Even though your business name might be registered, it's wise to avoid using it immediately. The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) might spot errors or issues in your registration process. If so, they could halt your trading under that name until the problem is resolved. This hiccup could cost you valuable time, regardless of whether the error was on your part or ASIC's. At NameCorp, our expertise and meticulous attention to detail in handling registration paperwork can help you avoid these delays, ensuring a smoother start to your business operations.   ## **The Right Time to Start Using Your Business Name** We recommend waiting until you receive your official business name certificate. Once you have this certificate, you're safe from potential ASIC interventions related to registration errors. If you've registered through ASIC directly, you will need to collect your certificate from their offices. On the other hand, if you've chosen NameCorp for your registration, we'll promptly email you a PDF copy of your business name certificate as soon as it's ready.   ## **What Comes Next?** After successfully adding your business name to the Australian business names register and receiving your certificate, you can finally relax briefly before diving into the demanding yet rewarding journey of launching your business. With your registration certificate in hand, you're all set to commence trading. ### Related articles [![blog image](https://businessaustralianews.com.au/hubfs/AI-Generated%20Media/Images/ASIC%20Business%20Names%20Register.jpeg)](https://businessaustralianews.com.au/blog/navigating-the-asic-business-names-register) #### [Navigating the ASIC Business Names Register](https://businessaustralianews.com.au/blog/navigating-the-asic-business-names-register) The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) is key in regulating ...
